NOVEMBER 2018 Newsletter
Check out whats happening this month at City Point!
We are moving into the holiday season. This time of year has mixed emotions for everyone. For some, it is a time for celebrating the people we love in our life. There are others that almost dread this moment because of the people that will be at the table or that are no longer at the table. In November, we will look at how we can reclaim the table and find some peace where we may have found stress in times past. We often can’t change who is at the table, but we can change what we bring to the table. Join us every Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00.

We are excited to announce an important update to giving at City Point! As you know, your generosity and financial partnership with us is how we are able to help expand the Kingdom. We value our church family and want to make sure everyone at City Point is aware of this exciting new giving platform, which allows for simple giving through a variety of ways, including mobile and online. You can try it out before Sunday, and even set up an account, if you’d like!
To start, you can:
1. Visit our website at citypointchurch.com/give
2. Text CITYPOINT to 77977
3. Download our City Point Church App here: citypointchurch.com/app-download/
*This applies to ALL online giving, not just those who have recurring giving setup. Our current giving through Fellowship One and Kindred will no longer work so please save the new text number in your phone or setup a new account with PushPay for online giving.
It’s that time of year when we reflect and express our gratitude for all of God’s blessings. For me, I am grateful for our church and the privilege of teaching God’s Word to kiddos. Parents often tell me about their children re-enacting parts of the stories they learn or reciting a Bible verse. I am humbled and amazed with these little ones week after week!!
All the thankful fuzzies remind me of this month’s lessons! Faithful believers like Solomon built the house of God. Paul & Silas praised God in the midnight hour. Mary & Martha served God’s people and sat at the feet of Jesus to soak up His goodness. Daniel didn’t stop praying to God even amidst the threat of lions. These are the grateful folks we will learn about this November!!
We’ll also have a gobble-gobble good time learning about the first Thanksgiving at our Thanksgiving parties on November 11th in the 3’s and 4’s-Kinder classes. We are looking forward to celebrating these bountiful blessings with your kiddos all month long!
Wanna be a part of reaching the harvest? Contact me, Alicia Ingram, at email@example.com for more information!!
Our 5th and 6th graders in Club 56 are having a great time as well. Meeting during the 2nd service on Sundays, they get to hang out with their peers, enjoy some snacks and hear a great lesson.
They’re currently on a series called “Stress.” The pressure our youth experience at this age can be tremendous. Please pray for our kids as they encounter the truth in God’s word and continue to grow in their faith.
City Kids is a great place to connect with other believers and make a great impact. Come check us out. We’d love to meet you.
Uprise Youth is the student ministry of City Point led by Andrew & Liz Brenden. We meet every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30pm at the church. Students in 7th-12th grade have an opportunity to make new friends, build a deeper relationship with Christ, and experience God in a real way! Bring some friends from school and come have a great time!
Follow us on social media @upriseyouth & text “UPRISE” to 972-460-9235 to stay up-to-date on everything we have going on at Uprise!
THIS MONTH IN UPRISE:
November 4th – FIRST SUNDAY
What would a modern-day disciple of Jesus look like? How would they act, live, and interact with others? Every FIRST SUNDAY we’ll look at the concept of going all in and talk about what it really means to be a disciple. You won’t want to miss this class—it may just change the way you live your life. Join us for a breakfast & discussion every first Sunday during 1st service in the Club56 classroom.
November 14th- Uprise Friendsgiving
Join us Wednesday, November 14th for our annual Thanksgiving potluck. We will provide the turkey & ham if each student can bring a side or dessert. Invite some friends (after all it is FRIENDSGIVING) to come feast with us as we give thanks for all that God is doing in Uprise! Please sign up at bit.ly/uprisepotluck with what you’re bringing.
November 21st- No Service
We will not meet for our regular service on Wednesday, November 21st. However, if you’re in town and still want to meet up we will be having a hangout night at Whataburger on Stacy Road in Allen from 7-8:30pm.
