November Series – The Counselor
In this four-week series, we will take a different approach to how we look at Jesus. Rather than being the one with all the answers, Jesus is sometimes the one who asks us questions–questions that force us to decide what we really believe. In The Counselor, Jesus asks, “Why are you so afraid?”, “Do you believe I can do this?”, “Do you want to get well?”, and “Why do you doubt?”. Join us each Sunday at 9:30 & 11:00.
We Are Moving!
We have been praying about a new location since our lease ends this December. We found a new building literally seconds away from our current location. It has twice the square footage and room for us to grow. We will keep you posted about our progress on the renovations. Our new address will be 15 Prestige Circle – almost next door. Please continue to pray since we still need to finalize the details with the city of Allen. Thank you for your generosity that makes this possible.
This month in our Pre-School Department, we’ll be finishing up our Skupperton series on, “The Keys to Being the Best Me.” The children will be learning about friendship, sharing and learning from others. Mark your calendars for November 23rd as we celebrate our Thanksgiving Sunday. We will be talking about the very first Thanksgiving, making a fun craft and playing games!
Pre-School & Elementary Training
Anyone serving in the Nursery/Preschool or Elementary kids area and those interested in serving our kids who missed the last training meeting – we are having a brunch and training meeting on Saturday, November 8th at the church from 10 am – 12 pm. We will serve breakfast items while we go over all the ins and outs of serving with our children. We look forward to seeing you then!
City Kids – The Big Exit
City Kids will be learning about the “Big Exit” in Exodus. They will look at how God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt. They will learn many great lessons about freedom, obedience and maintaining Godly habits in their life. We know that they will grow in their relationship with God and be challenged by one of the most epic stories in the Old Testament.
Uprise Youth – November Series: “Selfie”
Our world dictates that true fulfillment comes from satisfying our SELF. Take social media for example, it’s posts of what YOU are eating, where YOU are going, what YOU are doing, and who YOU are with. We use the best filters for our “selfies” and the most popular hashtags to get as many likes as possible. Everything in life is for personal instant gratification. But how satisfying is the life of a “selfie”? Jesus says, “if anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” Join us this month as we learn what true satisfaction really is and declare #DEATHTOSELFIE.
