What to Expect
A Great place for Kids!
As you and your child approach our check-in desks, you will be greeted by a member of our City Kids Check-In Team. You will receive a nametag for your child and a corresponding security tag for yourself at our computerized check-in location. Please alert check-in personnel of any information that will help in caring for your child, such as allergies and special needs. You will then take your child to their designated classroom. Please note that parents are not allowed in these classrooms without a corresponding security tag. All City Kids Point Teamers have been through a screening process to ensure the safety of your child.
Games & Activities
Upon entering the doors, your child will notice several game stations throughout the room. It is our responsibility to make your child feel welcome, loved and at home while they are in City Kids. While your child is in the game stations, a leader will be sure to connect with them to make sure they are engaged, playing with the other children, and building relationships.
City Kids begins every service with a worship set. Fast-paced songs are a time for kids to experience joy and fun while worshiping God. During our slower tempo song, we desire for the kids to connect with God. We want to give the kids freedom in worship. This time helps direct the kids to focus on the reason we are at church, which is to worship God.
An object lesson introduces the main point to your child by using a concrete visual and allows them to grasp and remember the lesson for the day. Each City Kids curriculum consists of a Biblical story and a themed lesson. Once the main point has been summed up, we ask the kids if they want to receive the gift that God has for them, salvation!
Once a month the kids break into small groups. During small group, we focus on empowering the kids through prayer and connecting with them relationally. Small group questions will be gone over to talk more about the Bible story they learned that day. At this point, we are purposefully working on developing a relationship with your child.
When you come to pick up your child, please have your security tag visible. For the protection of your child, you will not be allowed inside the classroom. When picking your child up from small group, please be sure to keep your tag visible for the check-out line. The leader will check your security tag and your child’s name tag for a match before allowing you to leave with your child. A child will not be able to leave the room without the presentation of the security tag. In the event you lose your security tag, you will be asked to show proper identification before your child may leave with you.
