What to Expect
A Great place for Kids!
As you and your child approach our check-in desks, you will be greeted by a member of our City Kids Check-In Team. You will receive a nametag for your child and a corresponding security tag for yourself at our computerized check-in location. Please alert check-in personnel of any information that will help in caring for your child, such as allergies and special needs. You will then take your child to their designated classroom. Please note that parents are not allowed in these classrooms without a corresponding security tag. All City Kids Point Teamers have been through a screening process to ensure the safety of your child.
Games & Activities
Upon entering the doors, your child will notice several game stations throughout the room. It is our responsibility to make your child feel welcome, loved and at home while they are in City Kids. While your child is in the game stations, a leader will be sure to connect with them to make sure they are engaged, playing with the other children, and building relationships.
City Kids begins every service with a worship set. Fast-paced songs are a time for kids to experience joy and fun while worshiping God. During our slower tempo song, we desire for the kids to connect with God. We want to give the kids freedom in worship. This time helps direct the kids to focus on the reason we are at church, which is to worship God.
City Kids uses the Gospel Project curriculum, which journeys through the Bible chronologically from Genesis to Revelation in 3 years connecting all the stories to Jesus. Using creativity, videos, and age appropriate teaching, each lesson is specifically designed to teach Biblical truth and help kids grow in their relationship with Jesus.
At the end of the Bible lesson each week, kids break into small groups by grade. During small group, we focus on helping the children apply what they have learned during the lesson through various activity. The small group setting is also an opportunity to develop relationships with other kids and the leaders.
When you come to pick up your child, please have your security tag visible. For the protection of your child, you will not be allowed inside the classroom. When picking your child up from small group, please be sure to keep your tag visible for the check-out line. The leader will check your security tag and your child’s name tag for a match before allowing you to leave with your child. A child will not be able to leave the room without the presentation of the security tag. In the event you lose your security tag, you will be asked to show proper identification before your child may leave with you.
Club 56 is the student ministry at City Point designed especially for preteens. Club 56 meets each Sunday during the 11:00 am service. Our 5th and 6th graders enjoy a time of worship with City Kids and then breakout for their own Bible lesson with games, activities, videos, and snacks. As 5th & 6th graders transition from kids to teens, Club 56 provides relevant topical studies to help grow deeper roots in their relationship with God.
