Much of the focus during the Christmas season is about the giving of gifts. We put together lists. We spend way too much time in the mall. We spend way too much money. All in an effort to give the people we love a gift they will love. But what about the receiving of gifts? What does the way I receive a gift say about me?
The message of Christmas is all about a gift-giving God. It’s about a God who gives us what we need the most. The most important thing this Christmas may have nothing to do with the gifts you give but rather the gifts you are willing to receive.
Candlelight Christmas Eve Services
Bring the whole family and join us on December 24th at 4:00 & 5:15 for our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service as we sing carols, listen to the Christmas story and light our candles in honor of the one who is the light of the world. It will be a beautiful Christmas celebration honoring the birth of our Savior.
Join us for our 2nd Annual Family Movie Night on December 4th from 6:30 – 9:00pm. Come dressed in your favorite PJ’s as we watch The Polar Express and enjoy a hot chocolate bar, popcorn & candy. Don’t forget to bring a blanket and pillow. Be sure and invite your friends and family to come join the fun. This night is for all ages! (The movie will begin promptly at 7:00)
Christmas with our City Kids
Our 4’& 5’s and our elementary kids will be singing during all three services on Sunday, December 13th. If your child is in these age groups – be sure and pick up a CD and words to practice at home.
Community Christmas Service
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! This season we thought of you and made plans that are guaranteed to get the whole family in the Christmas spirit. We have asked Santa to make an early stop on Sunday, December 6th at City Point during all three services. We will have a photo area for your family to take a picture with Santa, a hot chocolate bar, and an encouraging message about the true Spirit of Christmas. You can schedule your photo with Santa below.

No Sunday Service
Christmas is such a festive time of the year. On top of family get-togethers, holiday meals, & gift giving, we get to celebrate the birth of our Lord & Savior. This month however, we want to look past our lavish lifestyles and focus on the humbling circumstances that surrounded Jesus Christ’s birth. Join us as we realize the power of being Broke this Christmas season.
Wednesday, December 16th at 7:00PM – follow Uprise Youth on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter for more details as the time comes.
No Youth Service – Wednesday, December 23rd
Instead, bring your family on Thursday December 24th to one of our Christmas Eve services.
There’s a lot happening with City Kids in December and heading into the New Year. Our Gospel Project series continues with the Israelites in Egypt and chronicles God as the “Redeemer.” Please encourage your kid’s to bring their bibles each week.
It’s the holiday season in our preschool department! The excitement is mounting as we prepare for the wondrous telling of the Christmas story throughout the month of December. We’ll also sprinkle in candy canes, festive crafts and holiday games. I think it would be safe to say, you may spot some ugly Christmas sweaters later on in the month too. Ho, Ho, Ho!
We are so excited for summer camp 2016. This year, we will be taking our elementary kids (ages 7-12) to Dry Gulch, USA in Oklahoma.
In order to hold your child’s spot, a $100 non-refundable deposit is due by Sunday, December 20th. Payment can be made via check to City Point Church
with your child’s name noted on the envelope OR through text giving by texting the word “CAMP16” to 972-330-2495. The estimated cost per camper will be around $400. However, we will have several fundraising opportunities leading up to camp.
